In 2007 there was this really nice animated video … which was a winning entry for a competition taking place in Singapore … this competition shows the green forward looking perspective of Singapore’s urban strategy … in December 2009 next phase was started … more information’s about this project are available on the official homepage “Gardens By The Bay” … right next to the gardens there is “Marina Bay Sands” designed by Moshe Safdie which is considered to be opened in April this year … even if it is maybe not so visual attractive for sure it is a engineered masterpiece …
In “S, M, L, XL” the book by Rem Koolhaas and Bruce Mau from 1995, there is an interesting passage about their thoughts of the urban strategy in Singapore … it helps to understand the current situation and desire of Singapore … last year in November the Icsid World Design Congress took place in Singapore and with this there came a vision from Woha called Singapore 2050 Masterplan …
On the official homepage of Gardens By The Bay the goal is described by this words: “Defining Singapore as the world’s premier tropical Garden City.”
By the way the ongoing project of OMA in Singapore: “The interlace residential complex“
